Tiyanna Stewart Teuw

Tiyanna Stewart Teuw (she/her), Consultant, earned her BS in Human Development from Howard University and her MS in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University as an HBCU Fellow. She’s currently based in Dakar, Sénégal, and also partners with Save a Girl, Save a World where she is the project coordinator for the SPEAK Up! Project, a smoking prevention and tobacco control advocacy initiative for young women on HBCU campuses. Prior, she was a Youth Advocacy Program Associate at the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. In this role, she supported strategic outreach and engagement with communities disproportionately impacted by tobacco use and predatory marketing. In early 2020, Tiyanna was a Peace Corps trainee in Sénégal, but her service as a Community Economic Development volunteer was cut short due to COVID-19. Tiyanna is passionate about youth and community development and held positions at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Firelight Media, the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, and DC Public Schools throughout her undergraduate and graduate matriculation. Personally, Tiyanna enjoys exploring hobbies like DJing, skateboarding, and tie-dye. She’s also working on becoming fluent in Wolof and French as she intends to make Sénégal her home.
