Rickey N. McCurry, J.D.

Rickey N. McCurry, J.D. (He/His) Senior Consultant, Rickey N. McCurry, J.D., is a nationally recognized leader in higher education advancement, philanthropy, and alumni engagement. Rickey brings more than 30 years of experience in executive and philanthropic Foundation leadership across a range of public and private institutions. He previously served as UNLV’s Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement and President of the UNLV Foundation. His career also includes leadership roles at Northern Arizona University, the University of Tennessee System, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Southern Illinois University, and Meharry Medical College. Throughout his career, Rickey has successfully led multi-million and billion-dollar comprehensive campaigns, strengthened university endowments, launched innovative advancement initiatives, and built high-performing teams. He is a longtime member and Laureate of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), where he served as Chair of District V and as a member of the International Board. He was honored as the CASE- Commonfund Foundation CEO of the Year in 2009 He currently serves on the Association of Governing Boards' Council of Foundation Leaders and the College and University Foundations Board. Rickey holds a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law and a B.A. in History from Lane College, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a dedicated advocate for educational access and institutional growth, bringing a deep commitment to strategic leadership, community engagement, and the transformative power of philanthropy.
